The resort’s website claims the hotel has 306 “nicely decorated” rooms but newspaper reports paint a different picture – a picture that sounds more akin to a warzone. According to the New York Times, the lobby is littered with armed men of various origins – private security guards, rebel soldiers from the north of the country and international troops – and the hotel is surrounded by United Nations tents. By the sounds of it, this isn’t one to add to your wishlist just yet.
