The Royal Wedding honeymoon
As we get nearer and nearer to the Royal Wedding ceremony, media speculation about Kate Middleton’s dress is continuing to take centre stage. Much less talked about has been where the newly-married couple will honeymoon. Where do you think they will go, and what kind of honeymoon would be perfect for them and why? Let’s have your comments… but please, no spammy suggestions recommending resorts that you represent!! (they won’t be approved!) Thanks – and to those of you following the event, enjoy the day!

An Icelandic music festival at the edge of the world… and you’re invited!
The celebrated Icelandic music festival Aldrei fr g suur will take place on 22nd and 23rd April 2011 in safjrur, on Icelands West Fjords, and you are invited to attend via a live stream at www.inspiredbyiceland.com.Aldrei fr g suur is a music festival unlike any other: located practically at the end of the world, in a town nestled among precipitous mountain slopes, the festival brings together local bands with the biggest names on the Icelandic music scene. Since its inception in 2004 the event has been run on a volunteer basis by safjrur residents. Entrance to all events is free, and this year they are adding a live online stream to give music fans the world over a chance to take part. Lonely Planet named Aldrei fr g suur as one of the three most interesting happenings around the world in April in its Best of Travel 2011 round up.

Europe’s top 10 hidden gem hotels
I’m not sure what makes a hotel a ‘hidden gem’ as a considerable number in the list that follows are to be found in major European cities. That aside, here’s the top 10 hidden gem hotels according to Tripadvisor. (They don’t actually say ‘Europe’s top 10′ but since all of them are in Europe (in fact, they’re all in Western Europe), we assume that’s what they meant.)
Special feature: The Music Mill, Hathersage, Peak District, UK
Self-catering is often overlooked as a luxury option, in favour of hotels and resorts, but really it shouldn’t be. Over the last decade, the bar has risen once again when it comes to the self-catering (aka vacation rental) sector, and we are just back from a very relaxing break in the Peak District, staying at a lovely self-catering property called The Music Mill in the pretty village of Hathersage where this is perfectly exemplified.
4 of the most spectacular underground experiences
One of the main benefits of luxury travel, I have long believed, is that it affords us the opportunity to explore the most unusual, fascinating and unique aspects of our own planet. I love to discover new places and new perspectives, unearth forgotten worlds and embrace the unfamiliar. Although realistically there are few frontiers left in the world the most valuable possession we return with from our travels is our memories and to step out of our comfort zones and away from the norm can often lead us to our most outstanding and treasured reminiscences.
